LED Innovation: Martin Professional Supplies The Masonic
Once a masonic temple, The Masonic is now a venue that plays host to a variety of events including concerts, stand-up, and graduation parties. Built in 1958, the San Francisco landmark has recently undergone a makeover, giving the auditorium an impressive new look. The comprehensive refurbishment included a new concert stage, luxurious VIP boxes, and a capacity of 3,300, thanks to a flexible tiered floor space suitable that can be left open or have seating installed. The sound and lighting systems were also modernised - The Masonic can now boast a new stage lighting setup with more than 45 MAC Viper and MAC Aura lights from Martin Professional.
einstein & sons: “Lighting is passion!”
For several years, in the lighting design, lighting direction and programming industry, Michael Kühbandner and Roland Greil have felt right at home. They have been a part of turning various projects into reality, from the Eurovision Song Contest to the Echo and including accompanying the band "Die Ärzte" on tour. In 2013 they created the joint venture, einstein & sons. At the PLS 2014 they will be at Avolite's stand in Hall 11.0 and show their own demos for the interactivity of the Ai Server from Avolitesmedia. They tell us in an interview, what makes their job so special.
Video and lighting designer Matt Finke: “I love technology”
Being able to show emotions at the push of a button, that is Matt Finke’s profession. For more than twenty years, he has been giving business events, concerts and other events the right visual structure. Video and lighting are his profession. The following words prove it, “To be able to see first hand how your own concept moves people is thrilling and wonderful!”
Finke works for such companies as Audi and SAP as well as for the artists Mando Diao and Katie Melua. How does he do it? Finke doesn’t know, “I haven’t bribed anyone,” he laughs. At Prolight + Sound 2013, the Marburger resident was honoured with the Opus Award for his creative work. The prize means a lot to him, “The nominations are done secretly; you don’t know anything is going on. That’s why I was very surprised and felt extremely honoured.”
