Bigger, better, and more innovative than ever before: that’s LMP’s message for this year’s Prolight + Sound, welcoming visitors to its stand with a new concept and plenty of surprises. The lighting and stage equipment distributor from Ibbenbüren, near Osnabrück in northern Germany, is celebrating its 35th anniversary, which calls for something extra-special. LMP marketing and product manager Marc Petzold was on hand: “Visitors are going to experience a truly deep and diverse product palette from LMP this year.”

“Freidrehen”, “Gewinner”, “Keinen Zentimeter”, “Cello”: Erfurt singer-songwriter Clueso has been tearing up the German charts in recent years, scooping up a series of gold and platinum records in the process. His tours regularly sell out – including his latest Stadtrandlichter (“Lights of the Outskirts”) Tour 2014, which saw the singer on the road from 24 November to 28 December. For his stage appearances, Thomas Hübner (for that is the name in Clueso’s passport) puts his faith in environmentally-friendly technology.

FIFA World Cup 2014: Perfect Technical Preparations

FIFA World CupThe FIFA World Cup in Brazil is just around the corner to begin. In the past weeks and months, the German national team and its staff have been giving 110% in preparation for the big event. And they weren’t the only ones. At the LMP and V:LED ‘training camp’, research was conducted at high pace. Their mission: making the World Cup into unique ‘Public Viewing’ events throughout Germany and neighbouring countries, using newly-developed LED screens from V:LED.
Along with renowned German event organisers, V:LED has developed the new VSF6 LED-video system, presenting it at trade fairs including Prolight + Sound 2014. Trade visitors were highly impressed. It was soon clear that with the VSF6, V:LED was going to the be the first choice for many events organisers planning Public Viewing Events for the FIFA World Cup 2014.

LMP City at the PLS: bigger, newer, more spectacular

LMP CityOnce again this year LMP will be one of the big draws at Prolight + Sound. Especially interesting will be the two new and exclusive products from ENTTEC and LaseArray. Both innovations will be presented at the over 700 square meter  LMP City. LMP has even planned a few surprises for the presentations.

The LaseArray is an entirely new DMX controlled Laser bar. The light show with its individually controlled lasers will certainly be one of the lighting highlights of the trade fair.

New Years in Berlin with wicked lighting from ROBE

New YearsGermany's biggest New Year's Eve Party 2014 was once again held in Berlin. About a million visitors moved about between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column. Music acts such as Frieda Gold, Adel Tawil and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra covered the musical section of events. The highlight of the evening was the spectacular fireworks. show. A big part of the success of the capital's mega party, however, was  ROBE's eclectic event engineering.

Especially on the main stage at the Brandenburg Gate and at the party on the Strasse des 17. Juni, the spots, beams and flood lights of the Czech Republic's lighting technology producer, ROBE, were utilized. 14 Pointes were used on mobile LED wall risers for accents. 18 Pointes were attached to the roof's truss substructure, 12 additional ones were mounted in the side wings and six Pointes were mounted on the stage floor.
