d&b audiotechnik: “The d&b Family Certainly Feels at Home There”

Concert hall, cinema and multi-purpose venue: Fosnavåg Konserthus on the Norwegian coast can now be counted among the top addresses for the arts and entertainment. This is in no small part thanks to its top-quality Constellation Acoustic System provided by Meyer Sound, which raises the sound quality in the auditorium to new heights of acoustic excellence.
“We wanted a perfect room for acoustic music and a perfect room for amplified music, but with conventional physical acoustics we couldn’t have both,” said Bjørn Holum, event manager of Herøy municipality and head of the technology committee. So he turned to Meyer Sound’s Constellation System.
Lighting and sound are key to the success of any public event, and TW AUDiO partner IAC Qatar was on hand to provide the sound and lighting systems for the 4th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival in Qatar. Held thanks to the patronage of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the five-day festival is considered the most exceptional maritime event in the region. The 4th festival took place in November, and was a showcase for Qatar’s maritime heritage and customs requiring a full 400m of Gulf shoreline to do them justice. Several members of the Gulf Cooperation Council also participated.
MAYDAY has been a genuine electronic music institution since 1991, attracting tens of thousands of music fans who make it Germany’s biggest indoor rave. On the last weekend in April this year, it was that time again: more than 21,000 partygoers packed into Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle 1. The motto of MAYDAY 2014: Full Senses. Visitors were able to enjoy star DJs like Fedde le Grand, Paul van Dyk, Maguai, Sven Väth and Sander van Doorn with all their senses – not least thanks to a perfect technical set-up by Meyer Sound. Meyer Sound had already received an enthusiastic response to its brand new LYON loudspeaker system from visitors to Prolight + Sound 2014 at Messe Frankfurt - and they were able to show just how much their latest product has in its locker under live conditions just a few weeks later at MAYDAY Full Senses. “The sound was clean, clear, crisp, and had acres of headroom,” said Bernd Görgen, co-manager of Wiesbaden’s schokopro, the full-service-provider for sound, light, video and SFX which also made a noteworthy contribution to the event.
That is the name of the game at the Hannover audio manufacturer, Kling & Freitag. “Whether in the symphony hall or in a stadium, at classical or rock open air festivals: It’s not what you present, but how you present it. To feel, you must hear! If you want to listen, then you have the right to an unforgettable sound experience,” is written on their website. And using this motto Kling & Freitag developed their products. From March 12 to 15, 2014 they will be showing their newest developments at the Prolight & Sound in Frankfurt. Lars Heinrich, director of sales and marketing, told us what the visitors can be excited about.
They are old hands at Prolight + Sound trade fair. Monacor International is a provider of professional stage and DJ equipment, ELA and safety technology, as well as high quality speaker technology and has been at the trade fair in Frankfurt for more than 30 years. They will be there again in 2014. However, not only technology has advanced in the past years. The audience has too, as Marketing Director Michael Korte knows, "The show us your newest things contingent is definitely getting smaller." At Prolight + Sound Trade Fair in Frankfurt this year, there will be many interesting new products at Meyer Sound's stand. The public address system specialist will present its newest linear Loudspeaker System LYON. The self-powered sound system is the newest member of the LEO family. It is has an extremely light and compact case and is therefore very versatile.
“With the LEO system we can show that a system can stay linear on all frequencies and with very high levels. That offers a whole new listening experience for everything from the New York Philharmonic to Bassnectar,” says John Meyer, CEO and co-founder of Meyer Sound.
In the beginning there was music. In 1963 the Italian brothers Bruno Baldoni and Vinicio Tanoni joined forces in order to produce high quality guitar amplifiers. 50 years later FBT Elettronica S.p.A. has grown from a small handcrafted business to one of the leading international providers of music and audio electronics and is looking back on a successful history. In honor of the anniversary the company has produced an anniversary video which shows excerpts from the daily activities in development and production and in which Alan Parsons, who worked with the Beatles and Pink Floyd commentates.
