PIPA Award: Prize-winning Sound by Microtech

At this year’s Prolight + Sound, a new prize was awarded for the first time: Prolight + Sound International Press Award (PIPA), for outstanding products in the categories of Recording, Pro Audio, and Lights/Video. 120 trade journals and magazines from across the globe took were tasked with deciding which products were to be honoured with the new prize.

In the ‘Best Studio Microphone 2014’ category, Microtech Gefell, a microphone manufacturer based in the state of Thuringia in central Germany, was rewarded with the coveted trophy. It can thank technology that remains peerless to this day.

Laserworld: New Laser Series for DJs

At this year’s Prolight + Sound, Swiss laser show specialists Laserworld treated visitors to no less than two spectacular laser light displays, and presented their newest products, including the RTI ATTO and RTI FEMTO series laser systems.

The laser manufacturer has now brought a new product line to market: the Pure Diode Series, designed to bridge the gap between entry-level and professional systems. Its flexibility makes it particularly suitable for club operators and mobile DJs.

Opinions about the trade fairSeveral months in advance, the trade fair Frankfurt team planned, prepared and got ready for Prolight + Sound and finally from 12-15 of March it was time. Almost 900 exhibitors from 42 countries presented their products from the lighting, sound and event technology industry, welcomed more than 42,000 guests from all over the world and presented a firework of technical highlights. Prolight + Sound once again proved it is the leading international trade fair. Prolight + Sound team gathered people's opinions about the trade fair.

KVANT: Hot Beats, Pretty Women and Laser Deluxe

If the topic is laser shows with that special something, then KVANT is the one to go to. At the PLS 2013 the lighting experts from Slovakia put on a fascinating laser show. Naturally, they did things in style again for the Prolight 2014 where they presented their newest products in a first class show, including pretty women and background music. Those of you who were not able to see the show at Prolight + Sound 2014, can get a glimpse of the laser show here. Highlights of Prolight + Sound 2014

Prolight + Sound 2014That's it! An exciting and eventful day 1 at Prolight + Sound 2014 has come to an end. The leading international trade fair has once again had a wonderful debut. Thousands of visitors from all over the world and 800 international exhibitors take a look back at an energy filled and thrilling day.

However, we still have a long way to go. Then tonight at 6:30 pm in Hall 5.0 the Sinus and Opus Awards will take place.

Tomorrow, promptly at 9:00am the doors of the Frankfurt Trade Fair will open once again for day 2 of Prolight + Sound 2014. We will also be there reporting live and in person as well as being on the lookout for great topics and stories.

LMP City at the PLS: bigger, newer, more spectacular

LMP CityOnce again this year LMP will be one of the big draws at Prolight + Sound. Especially interesting will be the two new and exclusive products from ENTTEC and LaseArray. Both innovations will be presented at the over 700 square meter  LMP City. LMP has even planned a few surprises for the presentations.

The LaseArray is an entirely new DMX controlled Laser bar. The light show with its individually controlled lasers will certainly be one of the lighting highlights of the trade fair.

The 2014 PLS-Motto: Energy for Emotions

The upcoming Prolight is from March 12 to 15, 2014. Just like always, the venue is the Messe Frankfurt. The motto this time is “Energy for Emotions”. Although the motto is the same, their will be several new ideas and products, as Director Michael Biwer told us in an interview.

headphones contestHeadphones, microphones and headsets have been beyerdynamic’s profession for the past ninety years. “Technological advantage, constant innovation and the highest quality standards” are the axiom of the audio manufacturer from Heilbronn. The customers are always the main focus and also have a say in the design. That’s why the company had the first worldwide Crowdsourcing Design Contest for headphones, whereby 4,902 headphone designs were up for vote. More than 355,000 people voted, and we have a winner.

Get ready for Prolight + Sound 2014!

When spectacular light shows and outstanding sound fill the halls, when the technology elite gather, exhibit, discuss and examine the newest trends at the Frankfurt Convention Center, then it’s once again time for Prolight + Sound. From March 12th till 15th, 2014 the exhibitors at the trade fair will present the newest products from the areas of stage, light and sound, AV media technology, system integration, as well as broadcasting and recording. The motto of Prolight + Sound 2014 is “Energy for emotions”.

This year, there were more than 900 exhibitors from all over the world. 42,000 industry visitors from 114 countries attended the trade fair in Frankfurt. Can that be beaten next year? The team of Prolight + Sound is eagerly awaiting 2014 and all the exciting new products.
