Innovative product development, new features and optimized systems, those are Movecat's goals for Prolight + Sound 2014. At stand D84 in hall 9.0 they will present their newest products from their chain hoist, winches, electrical drives, steerings, cable systems and special solutions. “As our trade fair highlight, we will present the first units of the new Lastmess-Series. They have intelligent sensors, can be operated analog and with a network, work in stand alone mode as well as with a network or remote controlled and are flexible, modular and certified safety,” said Andrew Abele, CEO of Movecat.
A warm summer evening, good weather and many happy people, the ideal conditions for a good open air concert. So that such evenings can be a happy experience, you need good organization and planning.
Sabine Funk, among others, is responsible for such things. She is one of the leading experts for event safety and crowd management and is currently working on the German adaptation of the event safety guide. At the PLS she will be speaking about safety regulations at German events at the International Event Safety Conference in the Eventplaza. Prolight + Sound team asked her a few questions ahead of time.
They are old hands at Prolight + Sound trade fair. Monacor International is a provider of professional stage and DJ equipment, ELA and safety technology, as well as high quality speaker technology and has been at the trade fair in Frankfurt for more than 30 years. They will be there again in 2014. However, not only technology has advanced in the past years. The audience has too, as Marketing Director Michael Korte knows, "The show us your newest things contingent is definitely getting smaller." Today the visitors come to us with very specific product questions. They have informed themselves ahead of time. There will, however, still be surprises at Monacor International's stand.
When does pedestrian congestion occur? How does it turn into pushing and shoving, and when does it become life threatening? What can visitors at mega events do to keep out of harms way and to avoid a catastrophe like the one at the Loveparade in Duisburg 2010?
Safety at mega events was extensively discussed the 1st International Event Safety Conference at Prolight + Sound 2013 and will be tackled again at the coming trade fair on March 12th 2014 from 11 am to 6 pm in the Eventplaza of the Frankfurt fair.

While thousands of fans cheer in front of their favourite band’s stage, jump up and down or follow the hundreds of scenes in a musical, and entire hoard of event managers and event engineers have been working in the background. They not only think about the lighting, sound and autograph hour, the question of the safety at the events plays a crucial role in the planning. At the “1st International Event Safety Conference” experts will lecture and discuss these exact topics. The conference takes place parallel to Prolight + Sound. We spoke with the consultant, Hubert Klüpfel, Executive Director of TraffGo HT, in greater detail about his lecture topic: “Evacuation Simulations”.
