Events are becoming more and more elaborate and spectacular. Entrepreneurs, organisers and operators are thus faced with a growing responsibility. In addition, guidelines and laws must be observed in order to guarantee the necessary safety.
Which aspects are tested during certification?
The German accident prevention regulation (DGUV-17) applies to employers and insured persons in Germany as well as to employers and employees of foreign companies working in Germany. Especially for event technology, several certification procedures and standard tests can be carried out by different institutions.
TÜV-Nord, for example, ensures that the elevator meets the structural requirements. When the load is lifted and secured at working height, the hoist becomes a structure so that other regulations apply to the lifting process.
A load test requirement according to DIN 56950 applies to electric chain hoist systems in event and production technology, which are temporarily and temporarily assembled and commissioned for events and productions in which electric chain hoists and controls of different designs and equipment can be used.
Lifts for complex stage constructions
Lifts and lifting equipment are also subject to standard tests and safety tests. As exhibitors at Prolight + Sound, manufacturers such as mobiltechlifts pay attention to the highest safety standards. When it comes to the development and manufacture of stage lifts, safety always comes first at mobiltechlifts. Several models have now been certified in terms of safety.
These include the models ML2, a telescopic lift, ML3 for the construction of line arrays and ML4 as an all-rounder that can lift 270 kg at a height of 6.5 metres. The elevators are built according to the applicable standards and tested and certified by internationally recognised bodies such as TÜV Nord-Baumuster and Theateringenieur – BGV C1.
More information about Area Four and the certified lifts of mobiltechlifts can be found here (www.mobiltechlifts.com). Prolight + Sound is also devoting the necessary attention to the subject of safety and is placing it increasingly in the foreground.
