The Big Boys Toy Truss aluminium truss, or BBT for short, from the manufacturer H.O.F. Alutec Metallverarbeitungs GmbH & Co. KG is impressive in size and weight. With a span of 30 metres, the BBT can take a distributed load of 20 tonnes. That is approx. 60% more than comparable truss systems.
What makes it so strong?
The Big Boys Toy Truss is bolted together with the patented Ripp Lock Nut System, and can therefore do without welds altogether. The Ripp Lock Nut System means that no washers are required and all parts can be reused. The Ripp-Lock lock nut hardly loses any pre-tensioning force even after repeated use.
What sizes are available?
Depending on the desired load requirement, you can choose between 3 different truss sets. For the BBT, the heights 1400mm, 1200mm and 800mm are available. In terms of length, the sizes 2 metres, 3 metres, 4 metres and 6 metres are available. However, special lengths can also be manufactured on request. The statically proven span can be up to 45 metres. Black powder coating of the trusses is also possible.
And if something breaks?
Because there are no welded seams, damaged parts can be replaced quickly and easily.

Due to the small transport volume of the BBT, an average European tour to 30 cities can already save 44 tonnes of CO².
This works because the truss can be dismantled quickly and easily when needed.
This means that 150 metres of truss can be loaded and transported in just one truck.
And not only that, transport costs can also be significantly reduced!
The truss in use!
The BBT trusses can be used for large and elaborate open air stage roofs as well as for large indoor concerts and events. They can also be used as pedestrian or cable bridges between two buildings. Likewise, the BBT can be used on motorways to attach signage or to transfer cables or pipes across the road.
