Despite the difficult situation for the event industry, Prolight + Sound 2021 will take place in April 2020. Messe Frankfurt is organising Prolight + Sound with the full confidence of our exhibitors and partners, who continue to place their trust in the leading trade fair even in times of crisis. For the first time since the lockdown, the sector will be able to meet in person in Europe from 13 to 16 April, present new products and jointly send out positive and constructive signals for the events industry. Our comprehensive hygiene concept guarantees safe participation for all trade fair participants and can be flexibly adapted to current requirements.
Hall plan Prolight + Sound 2021
Due to the current circumstances, the second quarter has also become attractive for further trade fairs. In addition, some of the trade fairs on the site have moved from the first to the second quarter. This means for us, as well as for our colleagues, to make room. For this reason, Prolight + Sound will move to the eastern section of the fairgrounds to ensure smooth assembly and dismantling for everyone.
For this reason, Prolight + Sound will now occupy Halls 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, 4.2 and the foyer of Hall 4.1 with an area for associations and the Job Fair. On the “Agora” and “F1” outdoor areas, exhibitors will be presenting their audio solutions under open-air conditions. As usual, an extensive programme of lectures and presentations will also be part of the event. The new main stage THE STAGE, centrally located in Hall 3.0, and several spacious conference rooms will be the setting for the programme.
Hall 3.0 & Hall 4.0: ProLight, ProStage, ProEvent
This year, exhibitors from the fields of lighting technology, lighting effects, laser and stage technology will mainly gather in Hall 3.0 and Hall 4.0.
In the ProLight area, exhibitors will present all the latest products in professional lighting technology as well as spectacular innovations in laser, lighting and show effects. Experts from the industry will shed light on trend topics such as intelligent lighting control, digital transmission protocols, pixel and voxel mapping and energy-efficient lighting.
Theatre and stage technology is the focus of the ProStage area and a crucial pillar of growth at Prolight + Sound. In the meantime, ProStage has developed into a meeting place for all theatre technology trades. In Hall 3.0, theatre enthusiasts will find everything from stage and dance floors, platforms and grandstands, lifting equipment, automation and curtain technology, theatre chasing lights to special lighting and sound control consoles for use in theatres.
At Prolight + Sound, event managers in the ProEvent area will find everything they need to turn every event into a spectacular event – from innovative event technologies and spectacular effects to onsite attractions, mobile tent systems and software solutions for event organisers. In addition to classic event technology, this also includes specialised software solutions and services for organisers, furniture, decoration and equipment, transport solutions and much more.
Hall 3.0: THE STAGE
The highlight and eye-catcher in Hall 3.0 is the centrally located stage THE STAGE. A comprehensive programme of lectures and presentations is held daily on the main stage, which naturally takes into account the currently valid distance and hygiene regulations. Here, Prolight + Sound conveys, among other things, extensive know-how about event safety & security, green events, digitalisation in the event industry and business development after the Corona crisis.
Hall 4.0: ProMedia, Future Hub, Start-up Area
In Hall 4.0, lighting and stage technology are combined with promoting young talent.
At the Future Hub, the focus is on young talent in the sector. Future talents, job exchange and other topics for young talent – young professionals are the focus of attention in this new area.
Also new is the Start-up Area, which offers young companies the opportunity to present their innovations in a special setting. Particular emphasis is placed on sustainability in stand construction: Elements such as aluminium frames, fabric covering, doors and walls as well as the floor covering are made of 100% recyclable material. Become an exhibitor in the Start-up Area now.

The fair not only presents the technologies, but also gives exhibitors the opportunity to directly experience their projects and best practices in live demonstrations.
Live Sound Arena and Audio Demo Rooms have become a popular hotspot for audio fans. On the Prolight + Sound outdoor area, the Outdoor Live Sound Arenas (Agora and F1) will once again feature large stage constructions in ideal shape and sound reinforcement systems under realistic conditions.
The extensive supporting programme in the audio area is supported by IABM (International Trade Association for Suppliers of Broadcast and Media Technology).
