Prolight + Sound is the leading trade fair for event & entertainment technology and offers companies in the sector a large, international stage in the middle of Europe every year. Next year, the fair will place a special focus on the constantly growing product area of stage and theatre technology.

Theatre and stage technology again strongly represented

Already at previous editions of Prolight + Sound, innovations and the latest technologies in theatre and stage technology were presented and were a decisive pillar of growth.

For Prolight + Sound 2023, numerous exhibitors have announced their participation for stage technology, machinery, truss systems, stages and floors as well as automation and curtain technology. A varied supporting programme especially for this product segment rounds off the fair.

Among the exhibitors of theatre and stage technology who have already declared their participation are Alfa Systems, Artthea Bühnentechnik, ASM Steuerungssysteme, Bühnenbau Schnakenberg GmbH, Bütec, Chainmaster, ETC, Gala Systems Inc. and Gala Stage Mechanical Systems, Gerriets, Gross Funk, IGUS, Innodeck, Kotobuki, Mott, Wahlberg, SBS Bühnentechnik, Svetlost Teatar, TAIT, Tüchler, Ventum-S and 2m.

Mira Wölfel, Director Prolight + Sound:

“It is a matter close to my heart that stage and theatre technology, as the mainstay of the entertainment technology sector, is increasingly moving into the limelight of Prolight + Sound. This highly emotional sector has found a home here in Frankfurt and it gives me great pleasure to shine a spotlight on it with our programme.”

More exhibitors – more visitors in 2023

The successful comeback of Prolight + Sound this spring is already ensuring an excellent booking level for Prolight + Sound 2023.

Some of the exhibitors, including Waagner-Biró, BEO Trekwerk and HOF, have even increased the size of their stands for next year.

The proportion of visitors working in theatres, opera houses and festival halls more than doubled compared to the previous event (from 4 % to 9 %). 60 % of them were decision-makers with purchasing responsibility.

Theatre and stage technology with excellent programme

The ultramodern and multifunctional Hall 12 is the home of theatre and stage technology and also houses the Theatre + Light Stage.

Once again, top-class lectures will be held there by experts from the sector on topics including digitalisation in the theatre industry, sustainability at events and spectacular show technology.

Highlights at Prolight + Sound 2023

On special guided tours, decision-makers and buyers will be offered expertly moderated tours of technical equipment in theatres on four days of the fair. In this way, they will come into contact with the companies in a concentrated form.

In addition, there will also be a specialised programme for young people in the event industry. The Future Hub is the central contact point for young talents and brings professionals and companies together with the Career Centre, the Campus, the Start-up Area and the VPLT Job Fair. At the Future Talents Day, which will be open to trainees and students, there will be a full-day programme on career scenarios in the event industry.

All programme items at Prolight + Sound will be free of charge for visitors with a valid ticket.
