The Sinus – Systems Integration Award is presented annually at Prolight + Sound for creative and artistic solutions in the use of technology in audiovisual installations. This year, the World of Light exhibition by the lighting manufacturer Osram in Munich convinced the jury.
An audiovisual spectacle as a journey through time
Visitors can experience a multimedia journey through the company history at the headquarters of Osram Licht AG. The beginnings of Osram since 1906 are presented in a mixture of showroom and event location.
The product range from 100 years of innovation, from incandescent lamps to modern LEDs, is presented in a sophisticatedly staged room. On two levels, the high-tech supplier offers an infotainment world with light cinema as well as audio and video content, a wide range of lighting units and fog effects. Milestones in development are documented with the help of a timeline of lighting technology. One of the highlights: Light can even be experienced with a light box. On the ground floor, a movable glass partition wall system presents various room variations, which can be used as an open area for press conferences and large events or workshops.
Multifunctional use and consistent implementation
The jury particularly praised the multifunctional approach, which allows for a wide variety of usage scenarios. The jury was also impressed by the consistent implementation from model to finished project, which absolutely meets the client’s requirements.

Sinus award ceremony
The project team will be given the award on 2 April at Prolight + Sound 2020 in Frankfurt. Since 2004, the Sinus has been awarded annually at Prolight + Sound. The jury and the board of trustees of the prize are made up of representatives of the Association for Media and Event Technology, the European Association of Event Centres e.V. as well as industry experts, representatives of the trade press and Messe Frankfurt.
