Balloon rides have fascinated large and small for decades. The Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque, USA has been devoted to the history of balloon flight for over ten years. The museum has recently been cast in the right light – with the Paradigm light control systems from ETC.
The balloon museum is one of the highlights of the New Mexican metropolis. With the help of numerous exhibits, graphics, and most modern of multimedia equipment, it presents the oldest form of flight. The new controlling systems from ETC now support the exhibition with dynamic and energy-efficient lighting – in interior and exterior lighting.
Atmospheric illumination offers optically attractive charms
One the one hand the iconic character of the round roof is emphasized by LED lighting in rotating colors. The Paradigm light control system from ETC facilitates the adjustment of colors according to certain topics and causes. Museum director Paul D. Garver is enthused, most of all by being able to add individual, atmospheric lighting as additional, optically attractive events in the mornings.Museums are educational and engaging venues. We’re always looking for creative ways to get people involved and connected to us, lighting is one way to do that. Now, thanks to ETC and Echoflex Solutions, it’s easier than ever for the museum to take its patrons to new heights.

The museum director’s most recent plans include to make the light systems react to external weather circumstances such as temperature and wind speed. Although the plans aren’t yet finished, the technical requirements are already met by the Paradigm system.
They’re a living, breathing part of what’s going on and it’s a big benefit to us.

Flexible spatial atmosphere and pre-programmable looks
The interior areas can be pre-programmed and individually adjusted for the spaces through the light control system. The 7” touchscreen station and the user-friendly operation makes it possible to effortlessly adjust and change the looks in the room. This makes the presentation of exhibits easier and creates a unique, strong atmosphere.
The Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico was opened in 2005 and named for the balloonists Maxi Anderson and Ben Abruzzo, who came from Albuquerque. The museum presents the story of flying ‘lighter than the air’ with modern, multimedia installation. The highlight is the 4D cinema, completed in 2016, which lets the audience experience the acoustic and bodily sensation of balloon flight with the help of multimedia.
