Numerous partners make the Prolight + Sound BIZLounge a unique digital experience, so our supporter, NAMM. For the second year in a row, April just won’t feel the same without seeing colleagues and friends from around the world in Frankfurt this year. But NAMM team applaud the efforts of their friends at Messe Frankfurt to create the “Prolight + Sound BIZLounge” and doing everything in their power to connect our global community.
Since it has been nearly 18-months since we were all together at The 2020 NAMM Show, the NAMM team wanted to take this opportunity to recap some of their activities and look forward to what’s next.
Supporting Global Live Event Professionals
At the onset of the pandemic, NAMM sprung to action to support live event professionals across the globe with relevant information and timely updates to navigate the pandemic. Whether it is information on how to access relief funding here in the United States, or providing global resources from association supporters from around the world, NAMM is focused on supporting industry members in need.
This work continues and you can find a summary of activity on our Issues and Advocacy page.
To further support this community, new individual membership programs have been created, providing access, opportunity and community, along with a collective voice, to navigate challenges and opportunities to come.
Believe in Music Week
For the first time in 80 years, we were not able to gather as a global community at The NAMM Show, but in the spirit of never letting a crisis go to waste, the NAMM team took the opportunity to launch a first digital-only event, “Believe in Music Week”. The event generated more than 95,000 registrations from 187 countries and territories from around the world, creating a global connection that not even The NAMM Show has been able to generate. Attendees were able to engage in more than 1,100 special sessions and events, experience 611 hours of live-streamed and programmed content, including nearly 200 education, training and professional development sessions presented by 391 speakers, and learn about new products from 1,227 participating brands in the Marketplace, all to celebrate the power and resilience of music and to plan for the year ahead.
