“As kids we used to play with flashlights and remote control cars. Now we are grown and wise men and we came up with a laser hexacopter. It’s so cool and KVANT,” wrote Slovakian laser manufacturer KVANT on its Facebook profile, introducing its latest big boys’ toy. The flying laser show is our gadget of the week!
Technical details of the laser helicopter
The KVANT laser hexacopter boasts 2W/520nm green laser modules, a ScannerMax 506 scanner system, and a Moncha.NET controller. The drone can be deployed both indoors and outdoors – it’s ideal for concerts, festivals, stage shows and trade fairs. The ‘lasercopter’ can fly for over an hour on a single battery charge.
The KVANT Laserdrone is not available to buy at the moment, but is scheduled to be released in the near future. Who knows: perhaps we will be able to admire this piece of technical wizardry live at Prolight + Sound 2015? Until then, a YouTube video has already been uploaded. Enjoy!
