The Prolight + Sound trade fair is expanding its international partnerships for its 25th anniversary. For the first time the Industry Association International Trade Association for Suppliers of Broadcast and Media Technology (IABM) will be represented at the fair.
Trends in media technology
The industry association will hold a series of lectures on the topic of “Innovative AV and Broadcast Applications” at the trade fair taking place at the end of March 2020. IABM thus rounds off the supporting programme of Prolight + Sound in a wonderful way.
The lecture series will focus on topics such as
- the more complex landscape of competing standards and specifications,
- IP-based transmission technologies,
- the interoperability between AV devices and
- general trends in media technology.
IABM will also be represented with its own stand (Hall 11.0) and will advise visitors and exhibitors at the trade fair on industry-specific issues if required.
“The triumph of AVoIP solutions and cloud-based workflows means that even long-standing experts have a great need for further training,” explains Maria Wölfel, Director of Prolight + Sound, and is delighted “to have IABM at our side as a competent partner with excellent networking in the industry, so that we can present innovations in the broadcast and media technology sector even more comprehensively at Prolight + Sound.
High significance in the media technology industry
The Prolight + Sound trade fair celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2020 and has since its inception developed into the international trade fair for technologies and services for events and entertainment. With the IABM cooperation, the trade fair is sharpening its profile as the central meeting place for professionals from the entertainment technology industry.
In line with this, Prolight + Sound has revised its hall concept. In this context, Hall 11.0 will for the first time feature an area where interested companies and IABM Association members can exhibit at complete stands at reduced prices. The stage on which the IABM lecture series will take place is also located here. In addition, other experts will also be speaking on this stage on current issues in AV media technology. IABM’s extensive marketing measures are also intended to attract new trade visitors from the AV media technology segment to the trade fair.
For the industry association, the cooperation is an opportunity to pass on the knowledge of the experts to the event industry.
Prolight + Sound has an outstanding status as an international meeting place for the entire event and media technology industry. We are happy to bring our industry know-how to the event and are looking forward to interesting discussions with the visitors at our stand.
Andreas Hilmer, IABM Chair of the Board
Peter White, CEO of IABM, adds: “It is very important to us to support our members at important trade fairs and events around the world. Prolight + Sound is receiving growing support from our members as professional video and audio solutions are increasingly being used outside of traditional broadcasting applications”.
