Andreas Gause (Head of Marketing & Business Development)
1. Last year, after a two-year break, there were more events again. How did your company perceive the past months?
The last few months have been characterised above all by increased demand across our entire product portfolio. In particular, however, there was a great backlog demand for products for the trade fair and event sector. On the whole, the situation on the market has returned to normal for us.
2. What are your expectations for the industry in the coming years?
We expect growing sales in the various core markets and are positioning ourselves accordingly, both strategically and in terms of personnel. The orientation in the online business will become stronger; there is certainly still great potential here, which we are already registering through an increased acceptance and willingness to buy in our online shop. In addition, the range of products in the media and event industry is becoming more diverse and complex, the technical possibilities and therefore the demands on the products are increasing.
3. What is the significance of Prolight + Sound as an event technology trade fair for you?
We have traditionally been exhibitors at Prolight + Sound for decades. Prolight + Sound is certainly one of the leading international trade fairs for our sector. Due to the “fair-free” years caused by Corona and the separation from Musikmesse, a structural change has also taken place at Prolight + Sound. Of course, we hope that this change will have a positive effect and that, after last year with fewer exhibitors and fewer visitors, this year will again attract more participants overall. However, the high number of exhibitors and the crowds of visitors at other fairs bode well.
4. With HOLOVISION and HOLGAUZE you offer two exciting products. What makes them so special?
HOLOVISION in particular now makes it possible for the theatre and event market to display large 3D projections on stages. Due to a change in the manufacturing technology, the price of the HOLOVISION could be reduced by more than half. Augmented reality combined with 3D projections is playing an increasingly important role on stage these days. For this purpose, the HOLOVISION and the HOLOGAUZE are the ideal products to realise Augmented Reality quickly and easily on stage or in the exhibition area. Actors and dancers interact with virtual persons, there are no limits to the imagination of a production. CEOs and speakers find themselves in the middle of your immersive presentations, becoming part of your presentation, so to speak. In the meantime, we have realised many exciting projects from Dubai to Recklinghausen.
5. With a view to Prolight + Sound 2023: Can you give visitors a little foretaste of what they can expect?
First and foremost, a Gerriets team in a good mood. Then we will present our new G-TRACK track system, a newly developed track system with angled wheels that is amazingly flexible and resilient for its narrow profile size. In addition, we will be showing our new KABUKI G3 system, which impresses with its very narrow design and also enables much longer row releases thanks to its lower power consumption. Furthermore, we have some new textiles made of recycled materials and present our probably unique recycling concept for used dance floors and old projection foils. Speaking of dance floors, here we are presenting some new generation VARIO dance floors, which are now equipped with a glass fleece insert for reasons of dimensional stability and durability. In the dance floor segment, we will also be introducing some other new and surprising products during 2023.
You will find Gerriets in hall 12.0, stand C21.
