For LMP Lichttechnik Vertriebs GmbH, the global distributor for professional lighting and event technology, Prolight + Sound 2019 has come to a successful end. The new hall concept has also proved its worth for the Ibbenbüren-based company.
Product innovations and awards
There were numerous new products attracting visitors to Prolight + Sound to the LMP stand in Hall 12.1. California-based manufacturer Elation Professional presented itself with a world premiere, the eagerly awaited 50,000-lumen Proteus Maximus. The Dutch start-up Follow me, whose tracking system received the PIPA Award during the fair, was also present at the joint stand. For the distributor, the proximity to 17 of the most important partners was extremely important: “For us, this is a huge advantage to finally know that ELATION is represented in the LMP City. FOLLOW-ME was also located directly on our stand and was another magnet for visitors,” said LMP Managing Director Marc Petzold.
In addition to the throngs of visitors, the distributor also received two special awards. In the run-up to Prolight + Sound, Elation Professional awarded LMP the title “Best Performing Distribution EMEA 2018.” For the third time in a row, the company was also named “Distributor of the Year” by Swedish wireless DMX expert Lumenradio.
In addition to the Proteus Maximus, the new brand Obsidian Control Systems presented the first ONYX console as well as the already available compact NX 2, the NX Wing and the larger NX 4.
Another novelty was the new software version of the 3D visualization Capture. The latest update focuses mainly on the workflow of lighting designers and planners as well as various improvements to the user interface and the paperwork.
Prolight + Sound as “Industry Class Reunion”
Above all, the new hall concept of the trade fair had caused skepticism and displeasure among the exhibitors in advance. For LMP Lichttechnik, however, the new concept has paid off. LMP Managing Director Marc Petzold confirmed, “The revised hall concept, which caused a lot of displeasure among the manufacturers when it was announced last year, has proved its worth, at least for us and our partners in Hall 12.1.”
For LMP Lichttechnik, the trade fair is an important industry meeting place. Petzold concluded, “Prolight + Sound feels a bit like the ‘industry class reunion’. We really enjoy this meet-up and look forward to celebrating what we have achieved together with our customers and business partners at the trade fair. Of course, the positive feedback on the products and the confidence of our customers make us very confident about the future.”
