Prolight + Sound, the leading trade fair for event & entertainment technology, and IAAPA – the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions – will cooperate in future. As early as September (12 to 15 September 2022), Prolight + Sound will be represented with an exhibition stand at IAAPA Expo Europe in London. IAAPA is also planning to participate in Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt next year.
Amusement parks are major customers for media technology
Amusement parks have become a major customer for manufacturers of lighting, sound, stage and AV media technology. Many theme parks have a large number of show stages and elaborately themed attractions and special events.
The international attractions industry, like the entertainment industry, is struggling with the effects of the pandemic – including a shortage of labour.
For the resumption of safe operations, Prolight + Sound and IAAPA are relying on stronger networking between the sectors and are looking for ways to stabilise the situation.

International meeting place since 1995
Prolight + Sound has been a meeting place for international companies and professionals from the event and entertainment technology sector since 1995.
A special focus is on innovative products that create impressive visitor experiences and, at the same time, make spectacular productions possible.
In addition to lighting and audio systems, these include, in particular, solutions in the fields of lasers and stage effects, LED and projection, stage technology and equipment, media control and networks, as well as the latest trends in holography, AR/VR and immersive entertainment.
Prolight and Sound also offers a wide range of recruiting and career opportunities in the event and entertainment sector. Of the approx. 20,000 visitors to Prolight + Sound, 13 percent were schoolchildren, students and trainees. A further eight percent of visitors were looking for new challenges.
