Stefan Weil – „Music makes the people“
Stefan Weil, Chief Creative Officer of the internationally renowned Atelier Markgraph, opened with a keynote on the power of music. He discussed how music influences people on both an individual and societal level and how it can be used as a tool for transformation. His projects at Atelier Markgraph range from interactive experiences to large exhibitions, where music often serves as a unifying element. Notably, his work on exhibitions like “The Making of Stanley Kubrick” at the London Design Museum demonstrates his talent for telling stories through multisensory experiences.
Mikki Kunttu – „The Thruline and the Unspoken Resonance“
Award-winning lighting designer Mikki Kunttu is known for his work in dance, theater and opera. In seiner Keynote gab er Einblicke in seine Designphilosophie und erklärte, wie visuelle Elemente mit dramaturgischen Entscheidungen verwoben werden, um eine ganzheitliche Bühnenerfahrung zu schaffen. Kunttu hat bereits für renommierte Produktionen wie das Eurovision Song Contest Finale und die Royal Opera in Schweden gearbeitet. His quote “What I look for in a theatrical design” aptly describes the search for the “unspoken resonance” in his works that touch the audience in a deeper way.
Marion Schöne – Sustainability in Large-Scale Events
As Managing Director of the Munich Olympic Park, Marion Schöne has demonstrated how major events can be organized sustainably. In her presentation on the European Championships in Munich, she showed how ecological and economic aspects can be successfully integrated into the planning and implementation of such events. Under her leadership, the Olympic Park has set new standards in terms of sustainability, from energy-efficient technologies to strategies for reducing the CO2 footprint of major events.

Geneviève Cleary – „The Power of Sound“
Geneviève Cleary, a leading creative director, producer, and choreographer, is known for using sound as a powerful tool in live productions. In her keynote, she highlighted how sound can have an impact on various levels – physical, psychological, and emotional. Her experience spans from producing large-scale shows for international festivals to artistic direction of performances that engage with both space and audience. Cleary is particularly recognized for her interdisciplinary approach, blending sound, movement, and technology to create immersive experiences.
Prolight + Sound 2025
The year 2025 marks a special highlight: the 30th edition of Prolight + Sound. From 8 to 11 April, we will be celebrating with an expanded program that offers fresh impetus and innovative ideas for the future of the event industry. In addition to our Keynote Speakers 2025, the “Opus – German Stage Award” will be presented internationally and in new categories such as “Opus Event Lighting” and “Opus Immersive Sound”. An important sign of the growing importance of sustainable and inclusive solutions in the event industry.
