Reigning German football champions Bayern Munich celebrated winning the 2014/15 Bundesliga in the Postpalast events centre in Munich. Taking care of the technical side of the party was Wilhelm & Willhalm Event Technology. Their concept included an LED wall assembled using the LEDium R-3pro indoor wall system with 3.9mm dot pitch. The LED wall was attached to a specially constructed mobile base, which was equipped with C1 motors that allowed it to be moved during the event; experts from LEDium were are at hand throughout the evening to ensure everything ran smoothly.
The LED Wall
LEDium’s R-3 systems are mounted on aluminium frames which make them light and easy to transport. The R-3s are also designed to be easy to set up, run quiet (fanless), and have easy-to-manage data and power cabling.
Allianz Arena LEDs
From the start of the current Bundesliga season, flexible LEDium systems have also been deployed in the new Säbener Lounge in the Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich, using rooms that previously housed the club shop.
The new lounge has a 4.5×3.5m main LED wall, assembled from LEDium i3 modules with 3.9mm dot pitch. At just 8.5cm deep and weighing 16kg per module, the units are exceptionally light. The LED wall can also be serviced from the front and the individual modules easily swapped out.
The Säbener Lounge’s VIP guests can also keep up with live Bundesliga results on a 21m long LED ticker which runs above the bar. The ticker was assembled from flexible, interlocking LEDium FL8 modules with 8mm dot pitch, and runs on specially developed software that instantly updates with the latest scores via RSS feed.
