The world of professional show lighting has made significant strides in recent years. One outstanding example of this is the Claypaky HY B-EYE K25, a successful LED moving head that offers a wide range of applications. From spectacular concert stages to impressive theatre productions, this lighting system has caused a sensation worldwide.
The success story of the HY B-EYE K25

The story of the HY B-EYE K25 begins with the launch of the Claypaky B-EYE more than ten years ago. Even then, the company was setting new standards in show lighting. The B-EYE not only offered outstanding light output, but also innovative features such as individual control of each LED and a rotatable front lens. These features enabled breathtaking kaleidoscope projections and impressive visual effects that were used for many shows worldwide.
In April 2019, Claypaky presented the HY B-EYE, which was twice as powerful and bright as its predecessor. This further development was immediately well received and quickly specified by lighting designers and event technology companies. In particular, the HY B-EYE K25 and HY B-EYE K15 models have been very popular since their launch.
The Claypaky HY B-EYE K25 is a versatile LED moving head that can be used as a wash, beam and effect light. Equipped with 37 40-watt RGBW LEDs, it offers impressive brightness and a wide variety of colours. Thanks to its electronic zoom of 4° to 60°, it is suitable for both narrow beams and wide wash effects.
Key features of the HY B-EYE K25
- Light source: 37 OSRAM OSTAR Stage II RGBW LEDs, each with 40 watts and a colour temperature of 6000 K.
- Zoom range: Electronic zoom from 4° to 60° for a wide range of applications.
- Effects: Rotatable and indexable front lens for various kaleidoscope and beam effects. Virtual gobos and a digital beam shaper (e.g. Ovalizer) allow flexible beam adjustment.
- Control: Compatible with DMX, Art-Net, RDM and Arkaos Kling-Net protocol. The LEDs can be controlled individually, offering detailed effects.
- Dimmer and strobe: Linear electronic dimmer (0-100%) and an adjustable strobe effect with variable speed.
- Cooling: Active cooling with quiet operation, ideal for noise-sensitive environments.
- Weight: Approx. 27.5 kg.
The HY B-EYE K25 is particularly suitable for applications that require high brightness and versatile effects, such as in theatres, concert halls and at live events. Its flexibility and performance make it a preferred tool for lighting designers worldwide.
Make a big impression with the HY B-EYE K25

The Claypaky Hy B-EYE K25 impresses at Rammstein’s live performances.
The HY B-EYE K25 made its spectacular debut in 2019 during the stadium tour of German rock band Rammstein. Lighting designers Ronald Greil and Patrick Woodroffe used around 40 of the LED wash lights for aesthetic lighting purposes. Greil was impressed by the brightness and reliability of the K25 units, emphasising that their enormous brightness and flexibility perfectly suited the band’s requirements.
“We were one of the first shows to use a large number of K25s. We were pleasantly surprised by their brightness and reliability. The band loved the brightness and firepower, and the K25s did a great job.”

A few months later, the HY B-EYE K25 were used at the final of the 10th Russian Night Hockey League National Amateur Teams Hockey Festival in Sochi. The event was supervised by Aleksey Inkov as lighting designer and Aleksey Pavlenko in a festive gala.
“The HY B-EYE K25s mounted on the winches were used for various colour macros with pixel-perfect accuracy. We used the characteristic B-EYE effect when moving the trusses. Thanks to the large zoom range, we were able to perfectly combine dynamic movement effects with the beams in the matrix.”
Aleksey Inkov, lighting designer
Another outstanding project was the Singapore Bicentennial Celebration, where more than 600 Claypaky fixtures were used, including 262 units of the HY B-EYE K25. Michael Chan and Mac Chan, who were responsible for the lighting design, were impressed by the performance of the fixtures.
“The Claypaky K25s were an essential part of the show. Their enormous brightness allowed us to use them as a secondary wash as well.”

Due to the great success of the HY B-EYE series, Claypaky launched a special version in 2020: the HY B-EYE K25 Teatro. This variant was specially developed for theatres and other venues that require quiet lighting without sacrificing intense colours and brightness.
Numerous renowned institutions such as the Comédie de Genève, the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura and the Volkstheater Munich have switched to the quiet Teatro version. The HY B-EYE K25 Teatro proved to be the ideal solution for sensitive live events such as the virtual ARTE Concert Festival.

The HY B-EYE K25 is used as the preferred choice at high-profile events worldwide. In India, it has become established in numerous Bollywood film productions. In Singapore and at Universal Studios Beijing, the K25 is also an integral part of sophisticated lighting installations due to its versatility.
In 2022, the HY B-EYE K25 was used for the spectacular Holiday Light Show on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge in Mumbai. Despite the short set-up time of just two days, the system made an impressive light show possible. In the same year, the HY B-EYE K25 played a central role at the ESC Juniors in Armenia, where a total of 1000 Claypaky moving heads were installed. The K25 also proved to be an indispensable part of the lighting design for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest and the anniversary tour of the Spanish duo Estopa.
Olympic Games: Hy B-EYE K25 sets new standards

Claypaky Hy B-EYE K25 put the Olympic Games in Paris in the right light.
As part of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, 350 HY B-EYE K25 luminaires were used. They provided spectacular lighting effects not only during the opening and closing ceremonies, but also on the stands of Roland Garros during the games, to emphasise celebratory moments and changes.
The opening ceremony on 26 July 2024 made history by being held outside a stadium for the first time. The artistic programme highlighted French culture, followed by the traditional parade of athletes and the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic flame. The closing ceremony, on the other hand, took place in the usual manner at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on 11 August 2024, marking the festive conclusion of the Games.
Vasco Rossi Tour 2023-2024: Impressive lighting with HY B-EYE K25
For the Vasco Rossi Tour 2023, lighting designer Giovanni Pinna used 148 Claypaky HY B-EYE K25 fixtures, highlighting their crucial role: “The HY B-EYE K25s were an essential part of the line-up. Especially during the first hour of the show, when there was still plenty of daylight, a strong spotlight was essential. Later on, we were able to achieve impressive effects by using colours.” The fixtures” impressive power and flexibility won over both the designer and the audience.
In 2024, Pinna again used the HY B-EYE K25 and further optimised the lighting programming: “We used the same setup as last year, but were able to significantly improve the overall effects.” The 90-metre-wide stage with a 1,200-square-metre video surface placed high demands on the lighting concept. Pinna emphasised how crucial the penetrating power of the HY B-EYE K25 beams was for the balance between light and LED wall.
A total of 148 HY B-EYE K25 units were used, distributed at various positions above and in front of the stage, as well as on the ground.
“The K25s are excellent at rendering even deeply saturated colours like red and dark blue. Often it was the power of the washes that created the “wow” effect.”
Giovanni Pinna, lighting designer
