In little more than a month, the world’s biggest light, sound and events trade fair, Prolight + Sound, is hitting Russia. The NAMM Music Fair is running from September 11th to 14th 2014, and from the 11th to 13th it’s running jointly with Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, making it a top destination for visitors from across the globe. The event has been given a new home this year, Moscow’s Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre. Here’s what visitors can expect.
There’s going to be a full programme for event managers, sound engineers, promoters, DJs, musicians, and retailers. For example, there’s going to be a lighting design competition, where the best lighting technicians can test themselves against each other and present their most outrageous ideas. The world-famous Bolshoi Theatre, and Saint Petersburg’s Alexandrinsky Theatre, will be putting on shows that will prove just what stagecraft is truly capable of. In addition, numerous master classes and presentations will give sound engineers an opportunity to dip in to everything from the online streaming of theatrical events to the latest audio programming technology. Those in the equipment rental sector will benefit from the expertise of an international panel of experts on theatre and events venues at the rental and rigging forum.
Events at NAMM Music Fair Russia
The ‘NAMM University’ is offering a series of beginners seminars on online marketing. Podium discussions will look into the latest trends in digital music, and new technology and instruments. There will also be the chance to see the winner of the 2013 Yahama Band Contest at the Yamaha Music Pavilion.
Last year, 130 exhibitors showed the world their latest lighting, audio, and events products at Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia and the NAMM Music Fair Russia. Almost 10,000 trade visitors from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, China and the USA experienced the spectacle in the flesh; a 49percent increase on the previous year, and a figure that’s set to be broken at this year’s event.
