They are small, light, powerful and durable: the VOODOO speakers by French manufacturer PEOPEO. The team from the Grenoble area made its first appearance at Prolight + Sound 2024, aiming to conquer the European market from there.

Our speakers are made from flax fibers, which exhibit excellent acoustic characteristics. This allows us to create durable, easily repairable speakers with a powerful sound.

In collaboration with design offices and key players in the Grenoble region, PEOPEO engages in research and development as well as creative design to disrupt the connected speakers market. The goal is to assert its uniqueness and offer a visually appealing sound art object with bold lines, which is fundamentally different in design but at the forefront of technology in terms of performance.
Eco-Friendly and Handcrafted
PEOPEO’s development principle is based on an eco-friendly approach. The team places great emphasis on the origin of its components, offering a sustainable product made from plant fibers that is 100% French and locally assembled. The PEOPEO factory is located in Crolles, Isère, at the foot of the French Alps. Here, the team handcrafts each speaker with technical expertise and a passion for quality work. From assembly to finishing, employees apply their talent to offer a unique product. Similar to other leading French manufacturers, the team focuses on sustainability, paying special attention to the quality of the materials used. These are of natural origin, carefully selected, and exclusively sourced from France, ensuring short supply chains and a partnership-based relationship with suppliers.
The production of the speakers is intentionally small-scale, taking into account all brand values – thus creating products with a unique character.

The VOODOO+ speaker by PEOPEO combines explosive power (124 dB SPL max at 1 m) with outstanding quality, from deep bass to sparkling highs. This combination lifts the limits of musical enjoyment, both indoors and outdoors. With three EQ settings, the listening experience can be customized to individual preferences.
Technical Details
2-way active speaker with an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, a bass reflex with a circular front port, and two 180 W RMS dual-channel Class D amplifiers. The sound quality is ensured by a sensitivity of 104.8 dBA / 112.5 dBC / 124 dB SPL at 1 m, a frequency response of 35 Hz to 20 kHz, and a sound resolution of 24 bit/96 kHz. The dispersion angle is 120°.
For connectivity, the VOODOO+ offers Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm mini-jack connection, with the ability to connect up to 255 speakers via True Wireless Sound. The product stands out for its ultra-portable, high-performance standalone construction, with a total weight of 7.5 kg and IP54 certification, making it resistant to splash water and dust. It is also temperature resistant from -20°C to 80°C and made in France.
The integrated 4400-mA lithium-ion battery provides autonomy of 9 to 28 hours depending on the model and a quick charge of 2.5 hours, with 90 percent of capacity guaranteed after 700 charging cycles.
Conquering International Markets
In France, the portable speakers have already been a complete success. Now, PEOPEO aims to conquer the international and especially the European market. “Prolight + Sound is internationally well-known,” says Co-Founder Fred Giraud. That’s why they were in Frankfurt this year for the first time, to meet new resellers, customers, and interested parties.
