Bangkok is known for its energy, its contrasts and its distinctive dynamism. At the end of September, another impulse will be added: for three days, the Thai capital will become a meeting place for the international entertainment industry. Surrounded by powerful sound systems, modern lighting solutions, stage technology, displays and musical instruments, Prolight + Sound Bangkok will celebrate its premiere.
From 30 September to 2 October 2026, the new trade fair at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, or BITEC for short, will bring together manufacturers, buyers, planners and industry experts from South-East Asia and beyond. More than 150 international brands and over 5,000 trade visitors are expected.
The premiere comes at an exciting time. Demand for professional audio, lighting and event technology is growing in South-East Asia. New festivals, major sporting events, modern hotels, experience-based attractions and connected buildings require increasingly powerful technical solutions. Prolight + Sound Bangkok aims to respond to this development and connect international suppliers with one of the industry’s most dynamic markets.
Visitors can expect far more than a traditional product showcase. Alongside new technologies and practical applications, the focus will be on knowledge, exchange and the question of how entertainment and professional AV technology will develop across the ASEAN region.
What can visitors expect at Prolight + Sound Bangkok 2026?
Prolight + Sound Bangkok combines a product exhibition, professional development, live demonstrations and international business networking. The event is aimed not only at companies from the events industry. Its target audience also includes system integrators, planners, hotel and venue operators, retailers, distributors, musicians and decision-makers from education, commerce and corporate communications.
The focus is on technical solutions for a wide range of applications:
- Concerts, festivals and live productions
- Theatres, museums and cultural venues
- Hotels, clubs and entertainment venues
- Convention and conference centres
- Companies and educational institutions
- Retail and digital signage
- Studios, broadcast and post-production
- Sports venues and public institutions
When and where will Prolight + Sound Bangkok 2026 take place?
The premiere of Prolight + Sound Bangkok will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
BITEC is located in Bangkok’s Bang Na district and is one of the Thai capital’s established exhibition and congress venues. The trade fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific. In doing so, the organisers combine Prolight + Sound’s international network with VNU Asia Pacific’s regional market knowledge and business contacts.
The fair is designed as a trade-only event. Admission is reserved for registered trade visitors. Entry is free of charge, but registration with personal details and a valid identity document is required.
Which exhibitors will be represented at Prolight + Sound Bangkok?
More than 150 international exhibitors and brands are expected for the premiere. The first announced names already indicate the breadth of the offering. They include ACME, Altimate, HK Audio, Luminex, MA Lighting, Robe, RoxTone, TACT Audio, Visual and Wirlink. They will present solutions from the fields of professional audio, professional lighting technology, stage and event technology, displays, AV system integration and musical instruments.
For manufacturers, the fair provides an opportunity to build new sales and business contacts in Thailand and neighbouring ASEAN markets. Retailers, distributors and specialist planners can in turn meet international suppliers, compare products directly and identify suitable solutions for specific projects.
The full list of exhibitors will be published through the fair’s exhibitor and product search and will be updated continuously in the run-up to the event. Trade visitors should therefore check regularly before travelling to see which additional companies, brands and product innovations have been announced.
Regional cooperation is another key focus. An official Singapore pavilion, for example, is expected to showcase companies and innovations from the city-state. The fair is also supported by associations, universities, business organisations and government institutions from Thailand and other countries in the region.
Which products will be presented at Prolight + Sound Bangkok?
Prolight + Sound Bangkok covers a large part of the value chain for professional entertainment and AV technology. The offering ranges from audio, lighting and stage technology to conference systems, AV integration, displays, immersive applications and musical instruments. These individual product areas are becoming increasingly interconnected. Modern venues, studios and buildings rarely require isolated individual products. Instead, they need networked systems in which audio, video, lighting, control and IT infrastructure work together.
Professional audio technology
The professional audio segment will feature loudspeakers, amplifiers, mixing consoles, microphones, DJ equipment, effects units, public address and voice alarm systems, cables and audio software.
The offering is aimed at companies in the live and touring sectors as well as planners and operators of fixed installations. Relevant audio solutions are used at concerts and festivals, but also in hotels, clubs, congress centres, theatres, sports venues, educational institutions and public buildings.
One special feature of the fair will be the planned outdoor audio demonstrations. These will allow trade visitors to experience line array systems under practical conditions and gain an impression of their performance, dispersion characteristics and possible applications.
Professional lighting technology
The lighting technology segment includes stage and architectural lighting, LED and laser technology, light sources and accessories, lighting control consoles and solutions for outdoor areas.
Applications range from concerts, festivals and television productions to hotels, façades, theme parks and entertainment venues. At the same time, professional lighting is increasingly planned as part of a wider overall system. Lighting control systems work with media servers, video applications and central control solutions, for example, to create complex shows and spatial productions.
Stage, rigging and event technology
The stage technology segment includes truss and rigging systems, hoists, mobile stages and platforms, flight cases, curtains, set decorations and special effects.
These products form the technical and physical foundation of many live productions. Key considerations include not only design and flexibility, but also load capacity, safety, transportability and efficient assembly and dismantling. This is particularly important for tours, festivals and temporary large-scale events, where technology must be installed, operated and dismantled within a short period of time.
Conference technology and AV system integration
Another focus is on conference systems, media technology, AV networks and system integration. This area is aimed in particular at system integrators, planning offices, installation companies, building operators and IT managers.
There is demand for solutions that allow audio, video and control signals to be transmitted, managed and monitored over shared networks. Professional AV technology therefore plays a role far beyond the events sector. It is also used in hotels, companies, universities, congress centres, shopping centres, transport buildings and public institutions.
The fair therefore reflects the growing convergence of AV technology, IT infrastructure and building automation. This is particularly relevant for smart buildings, hospitality and modern entertainment venues.
LED, display and immersive technologies
The LED and display technology segment includes LED, LCD and OLED displays, video walls, projectors, projection screens, interactive displays and mapping technologies.
It also includes applications from the fields of augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality and extended reality. Immersive technologies are another part of the offering. These create spatial experiences through the coordinated interplay of image, sound, lighting, projection and interactive elements.
Such solutions are used not only at concerts and festivals. They are also becoming increasingly important in museums, experience-based attractions, tourism projects, theme parks, retail environments, brand experiences, sports venues and corporate presentations. Planned live demonstrations will show how these technologies can be used in real production and event scenarios.
Musical instruments and studio equipment
The Musical Instruments & Gear Zone gives the music sector its own dedicated platform. The offering includes electronic and electric instruments, guitars and other string instruments, percussion instruments, pianos and keyboards, as well as recording, production and studio equipment.
The range is complemented by DJ technology, backline and other solutions for live performances. Prolight + Sound Bangkok therefore connects technical production with musical practice. It is aimed at professional musicians and producers as well as retailers, rental companies, music schools, training institutions and other stakeholders in the music industry.
Overall, the fair’s product structure illustrates how closely live entertainment, professional AV integration and music production are now connected. Trade visitors can therefore view individual products not only in isolation, but also as part of complex technical systems.
Which professional events will Prolight + Sound Bangkok offer?
Alongside the exhibition, an extensive supporting programme is designed to share knowledge and promote exchange between international and regional market participants.
The formats announced in the current fair newsletter show that the programme will cover both specialist technical subjects and wider market and application perspectives.
AV integration for smart buildings and venues
The event “The Future of Professional AV Integration & Smart Solutions for Smart Buildings, Hospitality & Entertainment Venues” focuses on integrated AV technologies for different types of buildings.
The format is organised by the Thailand Professional Lighting & Audio-Visuals Systems Association, or TLAV. Its central question is how networked audio, video and control systems are transforming hotels, convention centres, educational institutions, retail spaces, corporate locations and entertainment venues.
The topic is particularly relevant for system integrators and planners. In modern buildings, AV systems increasingly need to work alongside IT networks, building automation, room booking systems, security technology and energy management.
TPQI Professional Audio Masterclass
The TPQI Professional Audio Masterclass has been announced as a three-day intensive programme. It will focus on audio engineering, acoustic design and live production. The format is supported by the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute, or TPQI, which develops occupational standards and qualification programmes for a range of industries.
The masterclass will cover both fundamentals and practical professional knowledge. Topics range from planning a sound reinforcement system, signal flow, room acoustics and system alignment to preparing front-of-house and monitor consoles, conducting technical soundchecks and managing complex live productions. Existing TPQI competency standards for professional audio technology also cover aspects such as level, impedance, phase, frequency and the time and phase alignment of loudspeaker systems.
The programme is therefore aimed in particular at audio engineers, system planners, production managers and early-career professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and gain a better understanding of professional workflows. It is not yet known whether the masterclass will be linked to an examination or an official TPQI qualification. Further information on speakers, schedules and participation requirements is expected to be published at a later date.
ASEAN Pro AV Market Outlook 2030
The ASEAN Pro AV Market Outlook 2030 looks ahead to the region’s economic development. The format is organised by the Pro Audio Visual Lighting Integration Association of Singapore, or AVLIAS.
The focus is on market potential and opportunities for cross-border cooperation. This perspective is particularly important for international manufacturers because, despite their geographical proximity, ASEAN countries have different distribution structures, project markets and technical requirements.
Cooperation with local distributors, system integrators and industry associations can therefore be crucial to positioning products successfully in the region.
Drum Circle and Music Therapy Workshop
The Drum Circle & Music Therapy Experience also explores the social and therapeutic impact of music. The workshop is presented in cooperation with IQ PLUS Music, Tycoon and Serenity Sound.
The format broadens the focus of the fair beyond traditional product presentations. It demonstrates that musical instruments and audio technology can also play a role in education, group work, healthcare and therapeutic applications.
Further details, timings and speakers are expected to be published on the official event website before the fair.
Why is Prolight + Sound Bangkok relevant to the ASEAN market?
