A new high-profile conference format will strengthen the audio section of Prolight + Sound next year.
At Prolight + Sound, which will take place from 25 to 28 April, there will be a four-day training programme for audio professionals and interested young people from the industry in cooperation with the Bildungswerk des Verbandes Deutscher Tonmeister (BiW-vdt).
Commitment to the audio industry to be expanded
Current trends in the sound reinforcement scene, innovations around home studio productions as well as exclusive training modules from the SQQ7 curriculum will be among the focal points of the lecture programme. All participants will receive a certificate for their participation in the seminar as proof of the knowledge they have acquired.
Prolight + Sound would like to continue to expand its commitment to the audio industry and make Prolight + Sound a hotspot for sound professionals from all fields. At a time when there is a shortage of skilled workers, the aim is also to make a contribution to training and further education and to encourage the exchange of ideas between newcomers to the industry and experts. All lectures will be held in German and partly in English.
“We are delighted to have gained a partner for the new ProAudio College in the Bildungswerk des Verbandes deutscher Tonmeister, which has been an international force in the organisation and implementation of specialised teaching events in the studio and sound reinforcement sector for many years,” says Mira Wölfel, Director Prolight + Sound.
The ProAudio Collage is divided into three thematic strands.
The first will focus on the SQQ7 education standard curriculum. A diverse working group under the leadership of the VDT has developed and defined various learning objectives for the further training to become a “certified professional sound specialist”. SQQ7 was already presented by the VDT and the Interessengemeinschaft Veranstaltungswirtschaft (IGVW) at Prolight + Sound 2022. It focuses on hearing training, physical basics of acoustics, signal sources and signal processing, network technology and intercom systems.
The second thematic strand is dedicated to current tasks in the sound reinforcement scene, where the advancing digitalisation and new standards for IP-based transmission systems have created a market dynamic rarely seen before in recent years.
The third topic of this training course deals with productions in home and project studios. New workflows and possibilities for immersive music mixing open up great potential in this area as well.
Extensive offers for audio professionals at Prolight + Sound
As in previous years, there will also be new programme offerings and contact areas in the audio sector at the next Prolight + Sound 2023. The Performance + Production Hub, for example, will be entering a new round and visitors will be able to discover an elaborately designed Experience Zone for music production and digital live performance at Prolight + Sound 2023. This has been organised by Messe Frankfurt together with the organisers of the Sample Music Festival and top brands from the audio industry.
And the Sound Experience Hub will also be part of the fair again after its successful premiere in 2022. There will be an Indoor Sound Arena for the presentation of sound reinforcement solutions under real conditions. The presentation of large PA systems will be brought to life in the Live Sound Arena on the outdoor exhibition grounds.
The next Prolight + Sound will take place in Frankfurt am Main from 25 – 28 April 2023.
