For years, the EVOLVE series from Electro-Voice has stood for sophisticated design, easy handling and professional audio technology – for DJs and bands as well as for hire companies and event service providers. With the new EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 models, which will be presented at Prolight + Sound 2025, the series is entering the next generation. Both systems combine impressive performance with maximum mobility – developed for large, high-energy events where powerful sound and fast set-up are required.
EVOLVE 70 – Compact, powerful, versatile
Evolve 70 and 90 from Electro Voice at Prolight + Sound 2025
The EVOLVE 70 is a compact but extremely powerful column PA designed for medium to large events. With a 15-inch subwoofer, eight 4.7-inch neodymium drivers and an amplifier output of 2,000 watts, it delivers a powerful, clear sound with maximum flexibility.
A particular highlight is the laminar-flow-vent designed subwoofer, which reproduces bass frequencies down to 35 Hz – with astonishing depth and precision. The dispersion angle of 120° horizontally and 25° vertically asymmetrically ensures that the sound is evenly distributed, even in large audience areas.

EVOLVE 90 – More bass, more power, maximum presence
The new EVOLVE 90 is even bigger and more powerful and is aimed at professional users who don’t want to compromise when it comes to large events or bass-intensive music genres. The system integrates an 18-inch subwoofer with a 4-inch voice coil, delivers rich bass down to 28 Hz and achieves a maximum sound pressure level of 134 dB – making the EVOLVE 90 one of the most powerful column solutions on the market.
As with the EVOLVE 70, eight neodymium drivers in the column and sophisticated FIR filtering ensure a transparent, even sound image. Despite its larger dimensions, this system also remains surprisingly mobile: with a total weight of just 44.5 kg, it is lighter than some 15-inch competitor products.

Smart features and networked control
Both systems – EVOLVE 70 and 90 – are fully integrated into the updated QuickSmart Mobile app ecosystem. This allows volume, EQ, presets and system networking to be conveniently controlled via Bluetooth from a smartphone or tablet. The combination of Bluetooth stereo audio, digital AES/EBU signal flow and classic analogue connection makes the systems extremely flexible in a wide variety of setups.
Additional accessories such as transport dollies, carrying bags and aluminium distance rods round off the package – ideal for frequent set-up and dismantling in live situations.
Under the motto “Bigger, Louder, and Ready to Amaze”, the new systems will celebrate their German premiere at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt. Visitors to the Electro-Voice stand will be able to experience the EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 live – both acoustically and in practical use. The presentation marks another milestone in the development of professional, portable loudspeaker systems.
Demo room with oomph
“We are back at Prolight + Sound for the first time in a few years,” explains Helmut Seidl, responsible for public relations for Electro Voice’s permanent installation. The company has rented a room next to its stand in Audio Hall 11.0, lined it and is letting visitors listen to the new system there.
We channelled 400 visitors through the demo room on the first day.
