Fresh ideas are needed to combine ecology, economy and social aspects. That’s what the “Green Event Space Contest” at Prolight + Sound is looking for. The contest, which was unveiled at the 2nd Prolight + Sound BIZLounge, aims to create a concept for a “green trade show booth”.
Flexible, innovative, green
Planners, architects, booth builders and students are invited to submit a detailed concept for a multifunctional trade show presentation with an integrated stage area by October 1. The condition for the “Green Event Space”-concept: it must address the social and political goal of more sustainable action.
With the showcase of the future, the focus is on flexible usability, innovative approaches and effective as well as interactive presentation possibilities. Messe Frankfurt will turn the best concept into reality at Prolight + Sound 2022 with a high public profile and will cover all costs.
Presentation at Prolight + Sound BIZLounge
Mira Wölfel, Director Prolight + Sound, presented the competition at the 2nd Prolight + Sound BIZLounge. However, the idea originated three years ago. At that time, a team from Messe Frankfurt discussed how a sustainable trade fair stand could be implemented. Inquiries with exhibitors revealed a surprising picture. Although the concept of “sustainable trade fair presentation” is not new, hardly any companies or exhibitors implement it.
So the idea was born to find creative and innovative minds in a competition for a multifunctional, budget-oriented, green trade fair presentation.
What is being sought?
A detailed concept is being sought:
- for multifunctional and sustainable showcase of the future: trade fair presentation with integrated stage area for live presentations
- with focus on flexible usability, innovative approaches, effective and possibly interactive presentation possibility
- as well as interpretation of the concept of sustainability based on the “three-pillar model”:
ecological sustainability: e.g., use of recyclable materials, energy-saving technology with a long service life, avoidance of long transport routes, avoidance of waste
Social sustainability: e.g. accessibility (also by technical means), possibility of project participation for people with impairments, use of fair trade products
Economic sustainability: e.g. feasibility of the project in an economically viable framework, accessibility even for clients with limited budgets
Awarding by expert jury
Partner in the implementation of the Green Event Space Contest is L&S GmbH, an established name in exhibition and stage construction for 25 years. Until October 1, creative minds can submit their ideas by mail to anja.kind@messefrankfurt.com. A jury of experts from companies, associations and representatives of Messe Frankfurt will then select the winning project.
