Audio production, DJing and digital live performance have been a center of attraction at Prolight + Sound for years. With the Performance + Production Hub and in cooperation with the makers of the Sample Music Festival the audio production area will get a new interactive experience zone for companies and visitors in spring 2022. Here, product presentations, demos, live performances and workshops by artists and experts from well-known brands will be bundled together.
Live visual performance and knowledge transfer
An interactive combination of product experience, knowledge transfer and entertainment will be designed on a 300 sqm area in the Portalhaus (VIA level). In addition to the product presentation of the top brands, visitors can experience interactive seminars on the use of live sound branding and showcases in the Live Visual Performance area. Here they can immerse themselves in a multi-sensual presentation of a brand CI with image and video content as well as colors and effects.
“With extensive new offerings, we are strengthening the audio section as a mainstay of Prolight + Sound. We are thus underlining our commitment to making the event a hotspot for sound professionals from all fields of application: from live sound reinforcement to recording, mixing, mastering and DJing,” says Mira Wölfel, Director Prolight + Sound. The premiere of the Performance + Production Hub additionally expands the offering with forward-looking topics such as live remixing and looping, controllerism, and the latest software and apps.
Creative use of innovative sound tools
The Performance + Production Hub will thus become a new attraction for creation and innovation. “The creative use of sound tools has evolved into a serious art form. Today, modern technological possibilities are merging with instrumental handwork in a way that was previously only known from classical musical styles,” says Alexander Sonnenfeld, organizer of the Sample Music Festival. The Performance + Production Hub brings this transformation to life, showcases current product trends and directly involves sound enthusiasts in the action. “As an international platform that brings together all trades in the field of entertainment technology, we see Prolight + Sound as the optimal venue for this innovative overall experience,” adds Sonnenfeld.
In addition to the daily workshops on music production, exhibitors will present their innovations in areas such as mixers and controllers, digital audio workstations, samplers and sequencers, synthesizers, groove boxes and effects units, as well as mobile DJ equipment. Creativity and technology from international product specialists and artists from companies such as Native Instruments, AKAI, Ableton and Serato will be on display to create an innovative experience.
Successful collaboration with Sample Music Festival
Prolight + Sound is thus extending its successful collaboration with the Sample Music Festival, which was already one of the highlights of the show in 2019. Performance + Production has extended this successful experience with closer collaboration with manufacturers, more interaction with visitors, a wider range of topics, and a more extensive education and live act program.
ProAudio: New Hotspot for Studio Production and Digital Live Performance
In addition to the Perdormance + Production Hub, a new hotspot for studio production and digital live performance will be created at Prolight + Sound 2022. The new Studio Village will be the first dedicated exhibition area for studio production and recording solutions. In Hall 11.1, visitors and companies will find everything from microphones, amplifiers, mixing consoles and signal processors, recording hardware and software to furniture and acoustic elements. In addition, exhibitors can present their music production, instrument miking and mastering products in individually bookable, acoustically separated rooms for workshops and product demos, the Studio Lab in Hall 11. This area is complemented by the Sound Experience Hub, a fully equipped presentation area, as well as an indoor Sound Arena for sound reinforcement solutions under real-life conditions.
