They have always impressed with their sound expertise and innovative system solutions for the professional sound reinforcement market. Their customers are those who expect premium sound for their events: Kling & Freitag has been a regular exhibitor at Prolight + Sound for 20 years. This year, the owner-managed company from Hanover once again has a highlight up its sleeve. One of the focal points of the trade fair appearance is the SEQUENZA 8: a line array system that attracts attention thanks to its special technical features and flexible usability.
The TrueShape® horn technology: precise sound distribution rethought

Kling & Freitag Sequenza8 at Prolight + Sound 2025
The centrepiece of the new line array is the TrueShape® horn technology. Kling & Freitag has developed it specifically to ensure an even horizontal sound distribution – regardless of the dispersion width. In contrast to conventional solutions, where often only parts of the horn are modified, TrueShape® changes the entire horn contour. The result: consistently high sound quality across the entire dispersion range.
“Three years of development work went into this technology,” explains Christoph Wöhler, Senior Consultant and Product Manager at Kling & Freitag. However, the work has paid off: where previously two variants – N (77°) and W (100°) – were required, TrueShape® now enables three tool-free switchable options: N (60°), W (90°) and XW (120°). Asymmetrical beam angles can also be realised – a real advantage for complex room conditions.
In contrast to conventional systems, where usually only the outer areas of the horn are affected, TrueShape® changes the entire horn contour. This means that the directivity remains constant over the entire working range of the high-frequency drivers – for an exceptionally even sound distribution.
The system also impresses with its sophisticated efficiency in the mid and bass range: four specially developed 4″ mid-range drivers in bass reflex enclosures ensure precise dispersion, while the outwardly angled woofers enable a compact enclosure design. Integrated bass reflex ports at the rear of the rigging strand and careful acoustic tuning also ensure impressively strong rear attenuation – ideal for stage applications with controlled freedom from feedback.
Technical specifications at a glance
The SEQUENZA 8 not only impresses with innovative features, but also with hard numbers:
- System type: Passive 3-way system, 1-way actively equalised
- Frequency range (-10 dB): 57 Hz – 22 kHz
- Max. Sound pressure level: 143 dB
- Horizontal dispersion angles: 60°, 90°, 120°, asymmetrical possible
- Vertical angulation: 0° to 12°, adjustable in 1° increments
- Weight: 28 kg
- Dimensions: 690 x 253 x 419 mm (W x H x D)
With up to three modules per amplifier channel and twelve units per amplifier, the system offers high energy efficiency combined with impressive performance.
AutoLock® rigging system: efficiency meets safety
Kling & Freitag is also setting new standards in rigging. The specially developed AutoLock® rigging system significantly reduces the time required to fly and stack the system. There is no need for safety pins at the front – rigging is safe and quick, with less manpower and without tools. The smooth side walls of the housing ensure a modern, unobtrusive design – ideal for architecturally demanding environments.
Versatile use for touring and permanent installations
Whether on large concert stages, in sports arenas or in theatres – the SEQUENZA 8 is suitable for a wide range of applications. Its compact design, fast rigging and customisable sound distribution make it the ideal system for changing requirements in the touring sector as well as for permanent installations in event venues.
The SEQUENZA 8 has already demonstrated its performance capabilities in its first beta applications: for example, on the European tour of the band Dirty Loops, at the European Darts Championships and at the traditional Three Kings’ Day competition of the Four Hills Tournament – in front of several thousand spectators in each case.
